Accessibility & Performance Improvements

A website that only works for some people is a smaller business. Accessibility—making sites usable for everyone, including people using screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, and low-vision setups—improves the experience for every visitor. Performance does the same: a slow page loses customers on every connection.

Accessibility work

  • Accessibility review of your site against WCAG 2.2 A and AA criteria, documented finding by finding.
  • Remediation—semantic markup, focus order, alternatives, contrast, target sizes, and the fixes that make navigation work for assistive technology.
  • Testing and documentation—we test with keyboard, screen reader, zoom to 200%, and narrow-viewport scenarios, and you get a record of what we checked.

An honest note: we bring a site to conformance with the criteria we test against. We don't sell “guaranteed immunity” from any legal outcome—that's not something anyone can promise—and we won't pretend otherwise.

Performance work

  • Measurement first—we establish how the site actually performs before changing anything, so improvements are evidence, not vibes.
  • Image and asset optimization—proper sizes, modern formats, reserved space to prevent layout shift.
  • Code and script discipline—removing the heavy, unnecessary stuff that slows first load.
  • Re-testing and reporting—before/after numbers you can see.

If your site was built elsewhere, bring it over for a review; if it was built by us, this work usually comes out of the same remote process as your design project.

How we work: West Palm Media is a remote digital studio based in Buffalo, New York. We work with West Palm Beach and Palm Beach County businesses by phone, video meeting, and online project review—no office visit required.

Questions, answered directly

Do you guarantee the site will be “ADA compliant”?
No one can guarantee that in any absolute sense. We work to WCAG 2.2 A/AA criteria with documented testing, and we tell you exactly where we stand afterward—including anything we couldn't verify.
How much does a performance problem cost?
Usually: lost visitors. Pages that take too long lose a meaningful share of mobile traffic. We'll show you the current numbers on your site so you can see the baseline yourself.
Will I need to change my whole site?
Often no. Many accessibility and performance fixes are local: markup, images, a script or two. We scope the work and you approve before it starts.
Do you keep the documentation?
Yes—findings, tests, and results are documented and yours to keep, which also helps if you ever need to show the work was done.
